John Joseph Hickey was born on August 6th 1895 in Madison, Wisconsin.
During the first World War, he served overseas with the Co. G of the 127th Infantry Regiment, 32nd Division.
John was by the first men to enter the city of Fismes on August 4th 1918.
This small french city would become a grave for thousands of american soldiers during the months of August 1918.
He died during the attack of the old catholic college of the city and was burried where he fell.
He was later disinterred and reburried in the temporary cemetery n°617 in FISMES on October 24th 1918, before being moved again an reburried for the second and last time in Oise-Aisne American cemetery on September 21th 1922.
He is now laying in peace with his brother in arms.
