Private Andrews entered the service in February 1943 and received training at Camp Swift, Texas. He had been overseas since Dec. 1, 1943. He was stationed in Northern Ireland before being sent to France with the infantry.
Mr. and Mrs. Andrews have received the Purple Heart award which was given to their son, Wesley, for wounds which resulted in his death.
In addition to his parents, Private Andrews is survived by two other brothers in the service. Boatswain's Mate Second Class Richard Andrews is stationed in the South Pacific with the U.S. Navy, while Private First Class Raymond Andrews is in Italy with the tank corps. He is also survived by four other brothers, Clifford, Rodney, James, and Charles; and a sister, Mrs. Henry Kihlmire.
