The 390th Bomb Group flew B-17 Flying Fortresses from Framlingham, Suffolk, between July 1943 and the end of the war in Europe.
B-17G #42-37925 'Rick-O-Shay III' was attacked by six ME109s on a mission to Augsburg, GR on 18 Mar 1944, exploded and crashed S of Lahr/Schwarzwald, GR after only three men baled out. Killed in Action (KIA).
