Funeral held Sunday for A. G. Berry

God in his wisdom saw fit to take A. G. "Gee" Berry from our midst. Mr. Berry was a resident of Simpson County's line of Jefferson Davis County. He passed away at Simpson General Hospital after a long illness. Funeral services were conducted Sunday at Stonewall Baptist Church of which he had been a faithful member and deacon since early manhood.

He was married to Miss Katie Thurman who preceded him in death. They had a long and happy life together, rearing a family of nine children. Eight sons and one daughter who mourn his passing. Always a kind and considerate father and husband, his death has caused a cloud of sorrow which will hover over his family.

Survivors are eight sons, Vernon Berry of Belzoni, Clyde, Wade, and Ray Berry, all of Jackson, George Berry of Crystal Springs, Hyman and Kenneth Berry, both of Pinola, and Fred Berry of Hattiesburg; one daughter, Mrs. Ola Mae Russell of Hattiesburg, 18 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
