Lucious served as a Staff Sergeant & Radio Operator / Gunner on B-25J #44-28785, 499th Bomber Squadron, 345th Bomber Group, Medium, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided in Bell County, Texas prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army Air Corps on February 24, 1943 in San Antonio, Texas.

B-25J #44-28785 took off, with a crew of 6, from Tacloban, Eastern Visayas Region, Leyte, Philippines on a bombing & Strafing mission over Floridablanca, Pampanga, Philippines.

Due to engine failure, cause unknown, the pilot decided to ditch in the sea.

Lucious was declared "Missing In Action" in this ditching during the war.

He was awarded Air Medal and the Purple Heart.

Service # 18202250

Lucious also has a "Cenotaph" in the Roberts Cemetery, Troy, Texas.
