Harold served as a Staff Sergeant & Gunner on B-25D-1 "Tinkie" (#41-30315), 500th Bomber Squadron, 345th Bomber Group, Medium, U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II.

He resided in Humboldt County, California prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army on August 8, 1942 in San Francisco, California. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a Salesperson and also as Single, without dependents.

Harold was declared "Missing In Action" when his B-25 didn't return from a bombing mission over Hollandia, New Guinea during the war.

He was awarded the Air Medal and the Purple Heart.
