Cpl. Nicholas Sabol Is Killed in Action
Cpl. Nicholas F. Sabol (above), 27, was killed in action in New Guinea August 29, the War Department has notified his wife. Corporal Sabol, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Sabol, Colorado Springs, Colo., had been in the Army for more than two years, leaving this country for the Pacific war zone about a year ago. He was in training at Fort Leonard Wood when he met Gloria Joanne Clouse, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tony Clouse of Marshfield. They were married November 18, 1942, in Christ Episcopal church in Springfield. Mrs. Sabol has been staying with her grandparents, Dr. and Mrs. V. G. Pranter, 645 South Kickapoo.
