Born in Dulth, MN on August 24, 1921 and attended Duluth Denfeld High School class of 1939 and attended Duluth junior college and married Patricia Sullivan. Enlisted in the US Navy on February 25, 1942 and was one of seven trainees selected for USMC aviation.

Mission History
Took off from Torokina Airfield as part of a F4U escort for B-25s attacking Vunakanau Airfield near Rabaul. Japanese aircraft intercepted, this aircraft failed to return. A total of three F4Us were lost: this aircraft also F4U 02402 and F4U 55835.

Fates of the Crew
Captured by the Japanese on January 22, he was detained as a prisoner near Rabaul. He was seen by fellow prisoner Colonel Marion Unruh who was in an adjoining cell. Brindos was one of 31 Allied aviator POWs were executed at Tunnel Hill near Rabaul on March 3/4, 1944

Officially declared dead on January 16, 1946.
