Donald Robins was one of 1803 Prisoners of War on the Japanese hell ship the Arisan Maru. He died when the ship was hit by torpedoes from an American submarine. The POWs survived the sinking but drowned when the Japanese refused to rescue them after the sinking. Only nine POWs survived the sinking.
