Peggy M. Rippe (nee Walls), age 69 of Valparaiso passed away at her home on Saturday, August 7, 2010 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on December 28, 1940 in Cleaton, KY to Russell and Anna (nee Lear) Walls.
After moving to Indiana, Peggy attended Boone Grove High School Class of 1958. On April 4, 1959 in Valparaiso, she married Richard A. "Dick" Rippe.
Peggy is survived by her children, Teri (David) Cooley, Tim (Kresha) Rippe, and Nancy (Jay) Hawkins all of Valparaiso; her grandchildren, Daniel Cooley, Taylor, Rachel and Philip Rippe, and Emma and Jack Hawkins; sisters, Annette (Shelby) DeArmond of Morocco and Fredia (Doug) Berg of LaPorte; brother, C.L. "Bud" (Diane) Walls of Valparaiso; special sister-in-law, Barbara Rippe; special niece, Stasha Bolde; special great nieces and nephew, Allison, Aimee and Brandon Bolde; and a host of family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dick in 1999; parents, Russell and Anna; and 2 sisters, Nancy Walls and Geneva Clark.
In 1975 Peggy and Dick started the family business of Rippe Well Service, which she continued to run with the assistance of her children after Dick's death.
She loved music, particularly Elvis and going to Las Vegas and the boats.
Peggy fought a long, hard battle with Alzheimer's disease for over 16 years with the help of her children. She was a kind and generous person who was devoted to her family. Peggy will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 12, 2010, at 11:00 AM at Moeller Funeral Home 104 Roosevelt Rd, Valparaiso with Pastor Rod Nielsen officiating.
Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the VNA Hospice 2401 Valley Dr, Valparaiso 46383.
