Ardene Evelyn Schram, 92, of Rapid City, passed away on Friday, August 6, 2010, at her home.
Ardene was born July 24, 1918 to Fredrick and Anne (Muchow) Dittman in rural Lyman County, SD.
She attended school in Pierre, SD and graduated in 1936.
Ardene moved to Rapid City in 1937 where she worked at the Methodist Hospital. She married John Schram on December 8, 1943 in Rapid City. After they were married, she helped John work on the family ranches and cooked for the hired help.
She loved planting flowers and always had a garden.
Ardene loved to read and spending time with family.
Ardene was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, lifetime member of VFW Auxiliary, and took part in many civic organizations in Rapid City.
A memorial has been established to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Rapid City.
Survivors include one son, David Schram, Rapid City; one daughter, Darlene; one son-in-law, Dale Mikolash, Rapid City; one brother, Donald Dittman, Webster, NY; one sister, Elaine Dirickson, Rapid City; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and six great great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; son, Glen; daughter, Dorothy Mikolash; and grandson, Dale Mikolash Jr.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at 12:30 pm until service time at the church.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at 1:30 pm at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Rapid City with Rev. Samuel Bobby officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. View Cemetery in Rapid City.
