The Pantagraph · Thursday, July 15, 1880 issue stated his wife was very ill at the time he died. She had typhoid fever and that is what took his life.

Job Evans Dye was born in Miami County,
Ohio, the son of William and Elizabeth Evans
Dye.

He married first, in 1842, Miss Sarah Ivers,
and had one daughter, Deborah Virginia
(Herbert). Sarah died in 1845. Married second,
Mrs. Mary Jackson, who died in 1855.
Married third, in Jasper, Indiana, Mary A.
Watson in 1857. They had three daughters:
Carrie Lou (Chaney), Sarah Estella (never
married; known as Stella), and Mary Joanna
(Cook).

Job Dye was Sheriff of Livingston County,
1862-64. He also served three terms on the
Pontiac City Council.
