Born January 17, 1939 in Linton, she was the daughter of William Henry Simmons and Minnie Alice Lloyd Simmons.
Billie was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Linton, and was formerly employed at Glenburn Nursing Home. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, devoting her time to the care of her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, also four brothers, Lawrence, Albert, James and William Simmons.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Jack House, whom she married October 13, 1956; four daughters, Nancy Loveless (Rusty), Sherri Priest (James), Susan Cullison (Mark), and Jackie Hale (Doug) all of Linton; two sisters, Kathleen Wright and Lorene Phipps both of Linton; 11 grandchildren and their spouses, and 22 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Billie's life will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 12, 2010 at the Calvary Baptist Church in Linton with the Rev. Eugene Riker officiating. Interment will be in Dugger Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Newkirk's Funeral Home in Dugger.
