Sara the daughter of Levi Beemer and Ann Eliza Gage, granddaughter of James Gage whose farm was the site of the Battle of Stoney Creek during the War of 1812. She is largely responsible for the war memorial at Stoney Creek. There are quite a few write-ups with regard to her philanthropies.
