Passed away Sunday, August 8, 2010, in Kalamazoo. Betty was born November 27, 1939, in Wellsville, Ohio to Henry and Willa (Staten) Means.
For many years she was employed at the Olympia Restaurant and Truck Stop and then worked 25 years as
Activity assistant at Alamo Nursing Home. Betty was a member of First Baptist Church of Otsego where she served in Junior Church. She enjoyed traveling in New Jersey, New York and Oklahoma; meeting with her breakfast group; and watching wrestling and NASCAR. Betty loved her grandchildren. Surviving are her 2 children, six grandchildren, step-granddaughter, Step-great grandson; three sisters and two brothers, three sisters-in-law, Betty was preceded in death by her husbands, Richard Belden in 1969, and Thomas Hurst in 1998; and by two brothers, Bill and Floyd 'Sonny' Means. Betty's family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Wednesday at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego. Funeral services will be held at
3:00 PM Thursday at First Baptist Church, Otsego, Pastor Merlyn Jones and Mr. Donald Moore officiating. Cremation will follow. Contributions in memory of Betty may be made to the Alamo Nursing Home Activity Department or the Missionary Fund of First Baptist Church of Otsego.
