"Floyce I. Tyler Huddleston passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 16, 2009 at the age of 81. She was born in Florence, Texas to Opal L. Boswell Tyler and Luther C. Tyler on January 18, 1928. She was the oldest of five children. Floyce graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in 1947. After graduation, Floyce married her beloved husband, Guy S. Huddleston, Jr. They were married 62 years. Floyce was an acclaimed landscape artist. Her career began as an illustrator for the Texas Department of Public Safety. She was once awarded Best of Show for a most spectacular bluebonnet landscape painting, "The Wire Gap". Her numerous works grace corporate offices and homes across Texas and the U.S. Her paintings will delight people for generations. Floyce is survived by her husband, her children, Guy S. Huddleston III and wife Teresa of Brownsville, Ruan Huddleston of Hitchcock, and Alan Huddleston and wife Michelle of Austin; her grandchildren, Craig, Heath, Sarah, Bradley, and Scott Huddleston and Eric Coleman; and great-grandchildren, Sean and Erin Huddleston; brother, Earl Tyler and wife Dean; sisters, Betty Shugart, Dorothy Snyder, and Donna Parrish and husband Dennis; numerous other relatives; and a host of friends...."
