Elizabeth "Betty" L. Dedering, age 76, of New Holstein, died unexpectedly Friday evening, August 6, 2010 at her home.

She was the former Betty Steiner born September 14, 1933 in Sheboygan Falls, daughter of the late Walter and Coral Barber Steiner. She was a 1952 graduate of Plymouth High School. On June 4, 1955 she married Donald Dedering at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth. Betty was employed at Lake to Lake in Kiel for 17 years, until her retirement. She was a member of SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Kiel, the Christian Women, Kiel VFW Auxiliary and played in numerous card clubs. She enjoyed bowling, reading, playing bingo and cards, watching the Packers, Badgers and Brewers, gardening and spending time with her family, especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Donald, of 55 years; five children, Mark Dedering of West Covina, CA, Susan Dedering of Sheboygan and her children, Trisha (Shaun) Rieth and Andrew Johnson, Julie (Jeff) Evenson of Valders and their children, Mark, Katie, Ben and Brad Evenson, Lisa (Steve) Horst of Kiel and their children, Josh Horst, Jacob Horst and fiancé Ashley Eissens, Chelsea Horst, and Christopher (Kay) Dedering of Kiel and their children, Justin and Ashley Dedering. She is further survived by three great-grandchildren, Michael, Rachel and Elizabeth Rieth; three brothers, Donald Steiner, David (Gertie) Steiner, Dennis (Shirley) Steiner, all of Plymouth; one sister, Sandra Bishop of Plymouth; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Gilbert (Marion) Dedering of Kiel, Mildred (Charles) Balkwell of Grafton, Shirley (Arden) Mogenson of Kiel, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Daryl and Leonard Steiner; and one nephew, Steven Steiner.

Funeral services will be on Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at the Meiselwitz – Vollstedt Funeral Home in Kiel with Rev. Loren Nys SDS officiating. Entombment will be at Knollwood Mausoleum in Manitowoc.
