This monument erected to perpetuate the memory of Mr. Josiah Kellogg who departed this life March the 14th 1807 in the 43 year of his age.

"A Husband, Father & a Brother dear
Who liv'd beloved, lamented, slumbers here.
The friend the worthy citizen combined;
With all the social virtues richly join'd;
Strict truth and justice rigid to maintain;
His life was gentle & his heart humane."
