He married Mary Frances Settles on 24 November 1870, in Marion Co., Missouri. They were the parents of 1 daughter. He lived in Divernon, Sangamon Co., Illinois in 1900 and in Illinois in 1915. He died on 17 November 1915, in Pawnee, Sangamon Co., Illinois, at the age of 75, and was buried in Horse Creek Cemetery, Pawnee, Sangamon Co., Illinois.
