Orlando D. McGeorge was born in Butler County, Penn., May 26, 1854 and passed away at the home of his sister, Mrs. Josie Adams, at Everest, Kans., July 2, 1921 at the age of sixty-seven years, one month and six days. Leaving Penn., with his parents, when but a small boy, they moved to Montgomery County, Missouri; a few years later settling in Andrew Cty., in the same state where he grew to manhood. After several years spent in Minn., he came to Iowa in 1891, and made his home in or near Anita during the greater part of the time. Having never been physically strong and rugged, he lead a rather quiet life, and has been gradually failing in health during the past two years. It was only a short time ago that he felt the end was near and expressed himself as ready to go. Mr. McGeorge never married. He leaves to mourn his death, two brothers, five sisters, and other relatives and a large circle of friends. The remains were taken to the old home at Whitesville, Missouri where a beautiful and impressive service was held at the Baptist church, on Monday, July 4th, conducted by Rev. O. H. Cunningham, of Boleko, Missouri, after which the remains were laid to rest in the family plot in the Whitesville cemetery.
