Mr. Ashley married Frances Eliza Grafton October 26, 1846. He was a member of St. John's College Board in 1859; director of the newly-formed Little Rock Gas Company (1859); mayor of Little rock fro 1857-1858 and 1861-1863 with his third term cut short by Federal occupation of Little Rock in September 1863.
