Funeral services for Walter Boggs, 70, who died July 2, at a Wichita hospital, were held Monday at 9 a.m. from the Hilyard Funeral Home at Douglass, conducted by Rev. Karl O. Magnusson of the Methodist Church.
Soloist was Glenn Hilyard with Mrs. Walter Essex, accompanist. Bearers were Walter Hartenbower, Charles Hein, Elmer Elder, A. W. Scott, Everett Elliott and Raymond Baum. Burial was in the Douglass Cemetery.
Walter Fritz Boggs, son of Martin and Mary Blakely Boggs, was born on a farm northeast of Douglass on July 2, 1884. He grew up here and made his home here most of his life. He had for several years worked on the Butts farm northwest of Mulvane until becoming ill a short time ago.
He leaves one brother, Ralph Boggs, of Douglass' and three sisters, Mrs. William Bates, Augusta; Miss Goldie Boggs, Colorado Springs, Colorado: and Mrs. Bert Sutton, Culver City, California.
