Death came to Dr. C.A. Ogg, for long years a Douglass dentist and former state fire marshall, at Newton hospital about 8 o'clock Saturday night. He had not been in the best health for several years following a heart attack, and had been in the hospital a few days. He was a former mayor of Douglass.
Clarence Archie Ogg, son of George W. and Sarah Ogg, was born at Douglass October 28, 1884. He received his education in the grade and high school at Douglass, at Lewis Academy at Wichita and the Kansas City Dental College at Kansas City, from which he graduated in 1906. He established a dental office in his home town of Douglass where he practiced for over forty years.
He was married December 25, 1906 to Mattie Stanley at Westmoreland. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one brother, Raymond, former Agricultural Attache in various U. S. Embassies abroad and now retired at Pompano Beach, Florida.
Dr. Ogg was widely known and respected as a dentist. To properly take care of his very large practice, he built and equipped one of the first, if not the first, bungalow dental offices in the state. He was a member and past president of the Seventh District Dental Society, the Walnut Valley Dental Society, the Kansas and National Dental Society.
He was a lifelong member of the Methodist church and the Republican party.

He served the City of Douglass at various times as clerk, councilman, and four terms as mayor. His father Geo. W. Ogg, also served as mayor of Douglass back in 1889.
Dr. Ogg was closely identified with, and helped with major improvement in Douglass for more than 50 years.
