DOUGLASS - Hilyard, Olena L., age 90, retired funeral director and former co-owner of Hilyard Funeral Home, died Sunday, Oct. 26, 2003. Visitation 1 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Hilyard-Smith Funeral Home; service 2 p.m. Thursday, Douglass United Methodist Church. Mrs. Hilyard was born April 8, 1913 in Severy, KS the daughter of Martin and Margaret (Hayes) Ludvickson. She married Joseph Glenn Hilyard on March 31, 1932 in Severy. She was active in numerous church, civic and social organizations and was a respected businesswoman in the Douglass community for over 40 years. Survivors: son and daughter-in-law, Brent and Charlene of Douglass; daughter, Cheryl Griggs of El Dorado; 5 grandchildren, Sean Hilyard, Aaron Crossfield, Shane Hilyard, Jordon Crossfield and Heather Arnett and 8 great-grandchildren;p niece, Sally Roberts; nephews, Alan Ludvickson and Larry Foyer. Preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Glenn; sister, Thora Foyer and twin brother, Hayes Ludvickson. Memorials to the Douglass United Methodist Church, Douglass Senior Center and the Douglass Public Library. Hilyard-Smith Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
