- Grandma's Touch -

'Twas the touch of her eyes always sparkling and smiling,
In spite of the fact that we grandkids were trying.

'Twas the touch of her lips so sweet and so pure,
That our scrapes, bumps and bruises we knew her kisses would cure.

'Twas the touch of her lap so warm and inviting,
That rocked us to sleep with little or no fighting.

'Twas the touch of her hands, so soft and kind,
That her grandkids knew comfort we would find.

'Twas the touch of her arms so gentle and loving,
We grandkids knew that they were for hugging.

'Twas the touch of her heart, so open and caring,
That we knew was always ours for the sharing.

'Twas the touch of her soul, so Christ-like in forgiving,
That we, her grandkids, will strive to continue while we are living.

'Twas the touch of this life - why we are here today,
That we love her and will miss her is what we need to say.

We will hold each other close, though she is no longer here, For it is our Grandma's touch that we hold in our memories so dear.
