Melaine Joseph LeSergent of Rossland, died at his residence Tuesday after a brief illness. He was 66.
Born at Birch Hills, Saskatchewan, on Jan. 16, 1922, Mr. LeSergent came to Rossland with his parents in 1926, where he was educated. Early years he started out working for Caminco, from there he went to work for the Rossland Miner Newspaper, as a Printer. Taking time out to serve with the Canadian Army in the Second World War. After the War he returned to working at the newspaper until it burned down, In 1973 he went back working at Cominco, until his retiring in 1987, because of ill health.
Mr. LeSergent was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 14, in Rossland.
He is survived by his wife Marjorie; two sons, Mickey (Marie) of Warfield and Kenny (Jodie) of Riverside; two daughters; Linda (Andrè) Tougas of Sparwood and Laureen (Kennth) Steriloff of Rosspur; five grandchildren; Merissa, Mario, Marc, Rachel, and Jason; seven brothers and one sister; numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Robert in 1955 and one sister.
By request there will be no funeral services. Cremation has taken place.
