Wounded at Beans Station (took a shot to the arm between his elbow and wrist) taken prisoner, with the most of the regiment, at Petersburg, VA,in June, 1864.Sent to Point Lookout, MD, and then to Elmira, NY. He was a prisoner for 8 months.
Returned to his Home Plantation April, 1865, to find everything destroyed.
