Jean Gail was born Jan.13, 1950, to Otto and Elvera (Kalpin) Quitmeyer in Parkers Prairie. She was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church, and graduated from Parkers Prairie High School in 1968. Following her education she worked various jobs in Minneapolis.
On June 8, 1974, she married Wesley "Wes" Gearhart at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Parkers Prairie. Following their marriage they lived in Minneapolis, Seattle and Parkers Prairie before moving to her residence on Lake Belmont in Clitherall in the early 1980s.
Her husband, Wes, died in 2000. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and a former member of the Muscular Dystrophia Association.
She enjoyed reading, working on the computer, traveling and visiting with her family and friends.
Jean is survived by a brother, Jack (Katherine) Quitmeyer of St. Michael; three sisters, Coleen McIntire of Miltona, Carol (Jim) Klimek and Grace (Don) Rubner both of Parkers Prairie; along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Phillip Quitmeyer and Tony Quitmeyer; a niece, Shelly Klimek; and a brother-in-law, Dennis McIntire.
Visitation: Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m., at funeral home, and one hour prior to the service at the church
