"Anna Marie Moll, daughter of Caroline and Joseph Moll, was born Dec 27,1859 in Solingen, Rheim Provice Germany and passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Harve Ulfers in Persia, April 18, 1943 at the age of 83 years, 4 months and 24 days.
She came to America at the age of 17 in the year 1878 and made her home with her brother Charley Moll of Avoca, Pottawatamie County.
She was married to Emil Von der Heyde August 17, 1879 and they made their home in Shelby, Iowa for five years, after which they moved to Persia and bought a farm where they resided 39 years. To this union six children were born, Martha Bingham of San Diego, Calif.; Ella Paulsen of Burbank, Calif.; Rudolph of Waycross, Georgeia; Amelia, George and Henrietta of Persia. Besides her children she leaves to mourn, 11 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren beside other relatives, and a host of friends.
In 1913 they retired and moved to Persia. Her husband preceded her in death Sept. 4th, 1928.
She was brought up in the Catholic faith, but her children being of Protestant faith, she too became a member of the Methodist Church in late years. She lived a Christian life and her faith in her Lord gave her great comfort and strength in her hours of sickness. She was a faithful wife and a loving mother and will be remembered by all of her friends for her many deeds of kindness.
Funeral services were held at the Persia Methodist Church conducted by Rev. P. Trucano, Thursday at 2 pm. The songs "Safe in the Arms of Jesus" and "It is Well with My Soul" were rendered by Mrs. R. T. Banks and Mrs. Chas. Peterson with Mrs. Roy Alter at the piano.
She was laid to rest by the side of her husband in the Valley View cemetery.
Those who attended the funeral from out of town were Dr. R. J. Heyde of Waycross, Ga., Mrs Martha Bingham of San Diego, Calif., Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Ulfers, Mrs Dale Ulfers, Mrs Kate Moll of Des Moines, Mr and Mrs. George H. Heyde, Mr and Mrs. George Heyde, Jr., Mr and Mrs Auston Hedlund, Mr and Mrs. Joe Aleck of Omaha, Mr. Wm Timerman of Manning, Miss Emma Peterson of Avoca.
