Bertha Polena Truax was born December 5, 1890 in Danville to Joseph and Mary Elizabeth Creighton Truax. She married Walker Truman Snowden Davis and had five children.Her only daughter died just before she turned 18 months. She named her sons Robert "Pete", Woodrow "Woody", Herschel "Tony", and Micheal "Mike". Her husband died early, leaving Bertha to raise her sons alone. Bertha died November 21,1958.
