Reg from Treeton near Rotherham in Yorkshire was a Kings Scout and Scout Leader. Working in the local Coal Mines he did not need to serve in the war but volunteered to join the Royal Air Force

He was buried as AC2 but would have received promotion to Sergeant by the time of his death and efforts have been made to try and rectify this and have a new headstone provided

Killed when with 23 Squadron he was a member of a Crew of a Blenheim L 8369 which crashed when trying to land at Middle Wallop.
The Pilot was PO Eric ORGIAS from Napier New Zealand and also on board was Sgt Laurence KARASEK the Observor who are both buried at OVER WALLOP (ST. PETER) CHURCHYARD
