Paula Ream had cerebral palsy. She loved car rides. She loved music and listening to "American Bandstand," while sitting in a special chair her parents had made for her.

Her three sisters carried her everywhere, as she never walked. She never talked either, but she laughed often.

Paula was just 9 when she died, at 6:30 on a Tuesday morning in August 1962.

Her family mourned her death and buried her small body in the "Babyland" section of the Riverview Cemetery off South Duke Street.

Sometime between 4 p.m. Thursday and about 1 p.m. Friday (August 13, 2010), someone dug up Paula's grave. They stole her child-sized casket and her remains. Hopefully, her remains are returned to their proper location. Her sister says, "She was a beautiful child."
