Fannie Mae Adams, 86, of Orange, formerly of Gordonsville, died on Sunday, August 8, 2010, at Dogwood Village of Orange County.

She was born on October 26, 1923, in Gordonsville, a daughter of the late Charles M. Johnson and Eve. S. Johnson. She was married to the late William L. Adams and was a member of Kindom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses in Gordonsville.

Mrs. Adams is survived by one daughter, Barbara Shelton and her husband, Fleming, of Charlottesville; two sons, James Adams and his wife, Patricia, of Louisa and Roy Adams and his wife, Stephanie, of Orange; one sister, Viola Winkey of Orange; one brother, Linberg Johnson and his wife, Geraldine, of Cobham; sisters-in-law, Josephine Jackson and Fannie Johnson of Louisa and Madeline Johnson of Gordonsville; a brother-in-law, Lanster Coleman of Washington, D.C.; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was also preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.

A memorial service was held Saturday, August 14, 2010, at the Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Gordonsville with Elder Lloyd Trotter officiating.
