James Morris "Jim" Larsen, age 81, of Cedarview, returned to his Father in Heaven and a big reunion with his parents on Tues., Aug. 10, 2010.

Jim was born Jan. 27, 1929 in Jackson Hole, Wyo., to James Elmer and Pearl Mariar Jones Larsen. They lived in Victor, Idaho until January of 1947 when they moved to the Montwell/Cedarview area north of Roosevelt. As a young man he liked to herd sheep and would go with anyone who would let him, sometimes just telling his sister to tell his mom where he was. He married Ila Vee Hamblin in Duchesne on July 6, 1949 and they made their home in Cedarview.

Jim spent his working years cutting and hauling timber in the Uintah Mountains. He loved being in the mountains and being with his family. He would often take his wife and kids on long rides exploring the Uintah Basin and other parts of Utah. They would sing songs or listen to stories while they traveled. He was greatly loved and will be sorely missed.

He is survived by his sweetheart, Ila Larsen, Cedarview; daughters, Ellen (Marvin) Montague, Stockton, Utah; Louise (Terry) Alexander, Roosevelt; Joy (John) Munro-Chapman, Pleasant Grove; DeAnna (Neil) Alexander, Orem; Jayme (Doug) Berkshire, Cody, Wyo.; Lori (Fred) Fritzler, Roosevelt; Kristine (Art) Harris, Colorado Springs, Colo.; LaGrand Larsen, Becky (Mark) Robinson, both of Salt Lake City; Rick Larsen, Cedarview; 23 grandchildren (several step-grandchildren) 31 great grandchildren, sisters, June Penfold, Driggs, Idaho; Mary Roberts, Mt. Pleasant, Utah; and brother, Terry (LaRene) Larsen, Duchesne.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Dennis and Dale Larsen and sister, Thora McBride.

Funeral services were held Aug. 14, at the Neola LDS Chapel.

Burial in the Cedarview Cemetery under direction of the Hullinger Mortuary.
