John L. (Jim) Jackson, youngest son of John Andrew and Elizabeth Jane Jackson, died Monday, January 8, 1968 at the St. Joseph Hospital in Lewiston, Montana after a brief illness.

He was born April 27, 1891 at the ranch home northeast of Springview where he grew to manhood and received his schooling. He also attended Fremont Normal.

He served in World War I and received an honorable discharge from the Army. After returning from the service he lived in Winnett, Montana, where he and his brothers, Carl and Dennis had moved shortly before he entered the Army.

On July 27, 1952 he married Mrs. Vera L. Jackson of Ainsworth. They resided in Ainsworth during the winter months but spent some of their summers at the ranch in Montana. Mrs. Jackson died October 26, 1963, and Mr. Jackson returned to Montana the following spring where he remained until his death.

He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Bruce (Wilsie) White of Tacoma, Washington; one brother, Carl of Winnett, Montana; four step-children, Mrs. Louis (Fern) Kienke, Mrs. Cecil (Marge) Carlson, Mrs. Lee (Jean) Leslie and Rolan Jackson; nephews and nieces and other relatives.
