Born April 26, 1906, in Espy, she was a daughter of the late John and Bertha A. (Hess) Hidlay. Her husband, Warren C. Girton, died in June 1987.
A 1924 graduate of Espy High School, Mrs. Girton was a retired sales clerk. She worked at Bolens Department Store, Milton, and the Tops All Store, Williamsport.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Milton. A 50-year member of the Order of Eastern Star, she was a charter member of the Shikellamy Chapter, which she served as matron in 1960 and 1961, and was an associate member of the Montoursville chapter.
She is survived by a son, Donald R. of Mifflinburg; a daughter, Donna L. Michael of Clarks Summit; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Shaw Funeral Home, 400 N. Front St., Milton. Burial will be in Montoursville Cemetery.
Visitors may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, where the Order of Eastern Star will conduct a memorial service at 8:30 p.m. Visitors also may call from 10 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday.
