Nellie Stellman, 88, of Michigan City, passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2002 at 4:23 A.M. at St. Anthony Memorial Hospital.

Grave side services will be conducted on Thursday at 10:00 A.M. at the Highland Cemetery in Fort Mitchell, Kentucky. Root Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.

Mrs. Stellman was born on August 2, 1914 in Covington, Kentucky to Asa and Liddie (Barnes) Beach. Her parents are preceding. She married Irvin C. Zitt and William H. Stellman both proceeded her in death.

Survivors include 1 daughter: Pearl Jean (Raymond) Selke of Michigan City; 2 sons, Irvin C. (Veda) Zitt III of Westville, Indiana and Lawrence R. (Judy) Zitt of the Pines; 8 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Rosella Adkins of Ludlow, Kentucky; a nephew; great-nephew and great-niece.

She was proceeded in death by a sister, Frances Moore, a grandson, and a great-grandchild.

Mrs. Stellman was a homemaker.

Memorial Contributions should be made to the Alzheimer's Association or American Heart Association.

My grandmother told her father she did not like her name as horses were called Nellie. He told her that he had picked out her name and that even animals deserved pretty names. Per: Pearl Jean Zitt, my mother.
