Mrs.Schmahl Is Summoned;Rites Planned Thursday.
Elkhart Lake.--Mrs.Augusta Schmahl, 77, passed away late Monday afternoon at the home of Mrs.August Butz, one mile north of Howards Grove, following a lingering illness.
The deceased, nee Stowater, was born in Germany on 8th May, 1867, and came to town of Rhine several years later. Following her marriage to John Schmahl, the couple lived many years on a farm on Highway 67, three miles north of Elkhart Lake. Since the death of her husband in February, 1935, she has been residing in this village and at the home of Mrs.August Butz. There are no immediate survivors.
Funeral services will be held at 1:45 p.m. Thursday at the Raeder Funeral Home here and at 2p.m. at the Community Evangelical and Reformed Church. The Rev.Carl Schmahl, a nephew of the deceased, will officiate and burial will be made in the Reformed Cemetery, town Rhine.
The body will lie in state at the funeral home from 3 p.m.Wednesday until the time of services. The casket will not be opened at the church.
