BEN D. COVINGTON
COVINGTON, BEN D., age 77 of Calera, AL passed away June 19, 2010. He was born March 26, 1933 in Knoxville, TN to Benjamin D. and Nola Mae (Dockery) Covington. On June 5, 1954 he married Alva D. Taylor, his loving wife of 56 years. He served his country during the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Mildred Carney.
He is survived by his wife, Alva; daughter, Carolyn Gentry (Bobby); sons, Bennie, Dewey, and Benjamin Covington; sister, Betty Donnley; brothers, Frank, Kenneth, and Jerry Covington; grandchildren, Chris, Brian, Kevin, Dawn, Courtney, Kyan, Corey, Tate, and Nick; great grandchildren, Lesli, Arles, Halei, Jake, Emma, Tyler, Landon, Sarah, Ryan, Taylor, and Jaden and a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Rockco's Funeral Home Chapel Montevallo with Rev. Billy Wyatt officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 22, 2010 from 6-8 p.m. at Rockco's Funeral Home Chapel. A private family interment will follow at Alabama National Cemetery.
