VIRGINIA BEACH - John Joseph Contos, 85, of Indian Creek Road, passed away May 14, 2003, in Norfolk.
He was predeceased by his parents, two sisters and two brothers. A charter member of the Blackwater Volunteer Fire Department, he was a lifelong farmer in the Blackwater section of the City of Virginia Beach with his loving wife of 60 years, Elvera L. Contos.
Besides his wife, he is survived by several nieces and nephews and a host of loving friends.
A memorial service will be held at a later date with burial to follow at Riverside Memorial Park, Norfolk. At the request of the family, memorial contributions should be made to the Blackwater Volunteer Fire Department, Attention Administration, 2408 Courthouse Drive, Building 21, Virginia Beach, VA 23456, to your local SPCA or to a charity of one's choice. Services are being cared for by Graham Funeral Home.
