There is a U.S., Headstone Applications for Military Veterans, 1925-1970 record that shows a Rupert Barton, PFC U.S. Army Co E. 7th Engrs (1917-1919)—with the same dates of birth and death on the application as this Rupert Barton—who was buried at Sunset Cemetery in Quincy, Illinois, not Oakwood Cemetery in Greenfield, Illinois. If it's not the same person, perhaps the military headstone should have been made for a different Rupert Barton and a mistake was made in processing the application, or one gravesite is a cenotaph and the other the actual burial location—or it's simply a huge coincidence. If you can clarify any of the above, please suggest edits.
