MRS. ELIZABETH W. LEFTWICH

Lynchburg,VA., Feb.5-Mrs. Elizabeth Williams Leftwich,widow of Col. Augustine Leftwich,died here last night,aged 87 years. She was a daughter of Mr. James Clarke, of Camden,S.C., and after her marriage at the age of 18 years she came to Lynchburg, and for 70 years resided in the old Leftwich mansion on Federal Street. She was a woman of beautiful character and was widely known for her numerous acts of charity. She is survived by six children-L.Clarke Leftwich and Mrs. William King, of Lynchburg; Alexander Tompkins Leftwich and Mrs. T.H. Wingfield, of Baltimore; Col. Alexander Hamilton Leftwich, of Greensboro,N.C., and Mrs. A.R. Humes, of Knoxville,Tenn
