Aynor…Freeman S. Allen age 76, husband of Willa Mae B. Allen of Plantation Rd., passed away Thursday December 3, 2009 at Conway Medical Center, following an extended illness.

Mr. Allen was born January 20, 1933 a son of the late Newberry and Addie C. Johnson Allen. He was predeceased by four sisters Rushie Prosser; Mag Barnhill; Fraye Rabon; Ivran Huggins; and one brother N.B. Allen Jr.

Mr. Allen was a member of Berea Baptist Church. He was a food merchandiser with several grocery stores in Charleston S.C., before returning home in the 1960's to open the Red and White grocery store in Aynor. Upon leaving he worked for Grand Strand Water and Sewer until his retirement.

Surviving are his wife Willa Mae B. Allen of the home; two sons Steve Allen and his wife Debra; Mike Allen and his wife Mary all of Aynor. One sister, Geneva Johnson, of Aynor. Four grandchildren, Heath Allen and his wife Ruby ; Natasha Staples and her husband Johnny; Angie Hilburn and her husband Randy; Nicole Graham and her husband Kenyon all of Galivants Ferry. Eight great grandchildren, Tanner Freeman Allen; Kenslie Mikah Graham; Mary-Elaine Staples; Dock-Allen Hilburn; John- Michael Staples; Chloe Irene Graham; Eli Mitchell Allen; and Eva Grace Hilburn. Funeral services will be held 2:30 PM Sunday December 6, 2009 at Berea Baptist Church with the Rev. Johnny Jenerette officiating.

Burial will follow in Pleasant Union Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-6 PM Saturday December 5, 2006 at the funeral home.
