SIDNEY WAYNE WILLIAMS (Sept 17, 1960 – Mar 30, 1981)

"Young Lincoln Countian dies in fiery crash" (The Daily Leader, March 31, 1981)
A young Lincoln Countian, identified as Sidney Wayne Williams, 20, of the New Sight community, was killed last night in a fiery crash on Miss. 583, Lincoln County Sheriff Houston Jordan advises.
The one-vehicle accident, investigated by the Sheriff's Department, occurred about one mile east of the Dogwood community at approximately 11:40 p.m. Williams, Sheriff Jordan said, was on his way home from his job as an offshore oil worker when he apparently lost control of his 1979 Buick in a spot on the road where there is a curve at the top of a hill. The car hit a tree, and, according to residents of the area, seemed to explode and burn on impact.
The Bogue Chitto Volunteer Fire Department and officers of the Mississippi State Highway Safety Patrol assisted in extinguishing the fire and removing the body, the sheriff said.
Williams was unmarried, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Williams of Brookhaven. The senior Williams is the owner of Dickerson and Bowen Construction Co.
A coroner's inquest at the scene determined that death had resulted from a vehicular accident the sheriff said.
