Son of Matthew Martin Anderson b. Feb 20, 1790 in Hanover County, Virginia; d.abt.1874 in Jackson County, Tennessee (Veteran of the War of 1812) and Leatha (Cummins). Husband of Fannie O.(Gore)who was dau.of William C. Gore and Jane of Jackson Co.TN; Wm. C. Gore was son of Henry Gore of Jackson Co. TN.
James Alexander Anderson served 4 years in the Confederate Army and one year in the General Forest Calvery. Served under Daniel S. Donelson.
Note: He seems at odds at times to say whether he was born Feb. 29th or March 1st (he was a leap-year baby).
