Ehpraim Beeton born in England came to the U.S. with his Father Thomas and mother Elizabeth and 4 brothers and 3 sisters around 1854-1862. Left behind was one infant son also named Ephraim.
They settled in Clermont County, near Blanchester, Ohio.
He married Mellisa Denham whos family had been in the states for a very long time. Children born to them are:

ANNA MARY
JOHN
LUELLA
HANNAH ALMA
CHARLES EPHRAIM
IDA BELLE

I believe all the children were born in Clermont Co. Blanchester, Oh.
About 1880 Ephraim and the family moved to Barber County Kansas, near Medicine Lodge. Ephriam was a circuit riding lay preacher.

OBITUARY:

The people of this community were grieved to learn that Ephriam Beeton departed this life at his home in Zula, Oklahoma, on March 1, 1899. Mr. Beeton was an old resident of Barber county, having been an early settler. He removed to Oklahoma in the spring of 1894 and resided there until his death.

Ephriam Beeton was a man whose force of character and disposition will live forever in the memory of those who knew him best. As a citizen of Barber county he was always known as an honest, worthy, upright and industrious man who held the highest respect and greatest confidence of his neighbors and friends, and that he was held in similar esteem by those among his associated during the past five years is demonstrated from the fact that his funeral was more largely attended than any that has ever occurred previously in the vicinity in which he lived and died.

Did this good, grand old man live in vain? Ah, no. The greatest success known to mankind is that of winning and holding the confidence and good will of society, and at last when the light of life is extinguished, to live on and on in the memory of those who mourn. Such was the life of Uncle Ephriam when his Maker called him hence.
