Actor. Educated at Collegiate Prepitory-Columbia Extension Institute, young Hugh Trevor-Thomas (he later dropped the Thomas) was planning an altogether different future for himself until finally following the advice of his distant relative, director William LeBaron. He left the East Coast where he had successfully begun his own insurance company and instead decided to persue an acting career. After completing a positive screen test directed by famous actor Richard Dix, began his screen career at the end of the silent era. Often cast in collegiate roles, he made his first film in 1927 and continued as a successful young leading man into both sound features as well as radio. His promising career was abruptly ended by his death thirteen days after his 30th birthday in 1933, dying from post-operative complications following an appendectomy.
