Katie Lou Redmond Adkins, widow of W. O. Adkins, left this life to join her loved ones in heaven on Tuesday, April 9, 2013. Funeral services were held at 11 am, Saturday, April 13, 2013 at Calvary United Methodist Church with Rev. Bruce Rucker officiating.

She was the daughter of the late Daniel and Lynnie Clark Redmond. She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir for many years. She was a graduate of Pelion High School. She worked for Jeanne Prince Manufacturing, Stone Manufacturing, Horseman Dolls and Lexington School District 4.

Survivors include two daughters: Faye Crout of Swansea; and Lynnie Redding of Hopkins; three sons: W. B. Adkins, Clarke Adkins and Perry Adkins, all of Swansea; 7 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Edith Garthoff of Pennsylvania.
