In the name of God, Amen. I, Jane Annin, formerly of the Township of Bernards in the County of Somerset and State of New Jersey, being weak in body, but of sound mind, memory and understanding (for which blessing I most devoutly thank my God) do make, publish and declare this to be my last will and testament in manner following to wit.
First. I hereby revoke all former wills by one made.
Second. I will that my executor herein after named from the proceeds of my estate, pay all my just debts and funeral and testamentary charges as soon as conveniently maybe after my decease.
Third. I will that from the proceeds of my estate, my said executor cause to be erected upon the graves of my late niece Antoinette Van Liew and her late daughter Mattie Van Liew suitable headstones with proper inscriptions there upon, the aggregate cost there of not to exceed the sum of one hundred (100) dollars, which I hereby authorize my said executor to pay from my estate. Fourth. I will and direct that my said executor cause to be erected upon my grave a suitable headstone with proper inscription there upon to cost not more than seventy five (75) dollars, which sum I authorize my executor to pay.
Fifth. I give and bequeath to my nephew, the Reverend John Annin now of the State of Missouri, and to his heirs and assigns the sum to two hundred (200) dollars. (Karen’s note: son of William Annin and Sarah Kirkpatrick)
Sixth. I give and bequeath to my niece, Lydia Boyle, wife of John F. Boyle, of Liberty Corner in the State of New Jersey, the notes now held by me and made by the said John F. Boyle to her and her heirs and assigns, which said notes are take together for the sum of four hundred (400) dollars. (Karen’s note: daughter of William Annin and Sarah Kirkpatrick)
Seventh. I give and bequeath to Gertrude Whitenack, wife of Dumont Whitenack, of Summerville, New Jersey, to her heirs and assigns the sum of one hundred (100) dollars. (Karen’s note: niece, daughter of William Annin and Eliza Ames)
Eight. I give and bequeath to William Annin, son of the late Joseph Annin, now of Omaha, Nebraska, the sum of fifth dollars which said sum I herby direct my executor aforesaid to deduct from the amount of the said William Annin’s indebtedness to me. (Karen’s note: Joseph Annin is half brother to Jane, William a nephew)
Ninth. I give and bequeath to James V.D. Ayers, his heirs and assigns the sum of fifty (50) dollars which said sum I hereby direct my said executor to deduct from the amount of the indebtedness of the said James V.D. Ayers to my estate.
Tenth. All the rest residue and remainder of my estate, of whatsoever nature this same maybe or wherever the same maybe situate I direct to be divided be equally divided between the serving children of my two late nieces Martha Castner formerly of the City of Brooklyn and Antoinette Van Liew of Dover in the site of New Jersey, share and share alike, for them to have and to hold the same, to them and to their and each of their heirs, executors, administrators and assigns forever.
Eleventh. I hereby nominate constitute and appoint my friend Parmenas Castner of the City of Brooklyn in the County of Kings and State of New York, to be my sole Executor of this my Last Will and Testament.
