Funeral services for James T Q Lowe, 62, who died in Westville, Okla June 28, 1934, were held at the home of his nephew, Robert W Lowe, on Washington Avenue Sunday at 4:30 p.m. He was born July 14, 1871 in Cheatham county, the son of Leonard John and Nancy Jane Quarles Lowe.
He served in the Spanish American War and the Philippines Insurrection as a member of Company C, First Tennessee Volunteer Infantry. Upon his return from overseas, he became a traveling salesman which he did for about 10 years. He left Tennessee and located in Westville, Okla where he was engaged in the general contracting business until his death.
He belonged to the Odd Fellows Lodge. He was a man of most pleasing personality, have the facility of acquiring friends easily, among the educated and the lowly and needy, and those most requiring moral support. He always saw the bright sider of life and helped immeasurably to lighten the burdens and cares of those with whom he was associated.
He is survived by his brothers, William Quarles Lowe and Thomas William Lowe of Akron, Oh.
